Partnering with One Tree Planted, Formstack expands its commitment to create a more sustainable world with new reforestation program
FISHERS, IND. – June 29, 2021 – Formstack, a workplace productivity platform that empowers anyone to digitize what matters, automate workflows, and fix processes—all without code—today announced Formstack Forests. Partnering with One Tree Planted on the environmental responsibility program, Formstack will plant a tree for every new paid Formstack subscription, with the goal of planting at least 15,000 trees in 2021.
Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and supporting communities devastated by environmental damage. Yet, deforestation is a persistent problem—with 46% of the world’s forests destroyed.
“Since 2010, Formstack has helped save more than 47,000 trees* by helping organizations replace manual, paper-based processes with digital solutions and workflows. We’re ready to double down on that impact with Formstack Forests,” said Chris Byers, CEO, Formstack. “We’re excited to partner with One Tree Planted on this reforestation initiative and hope it inspires others to take positive action for the environment.”
While the company formally announced the initiative today, Formstack planted more than 750 trees in 2020, and has already planted 6,400 trees of the 15,000 goal in 2021. Formstack recently planted more than 2,800 trees in the Amazon Rainforest, and an additional 1,550 trees in British Columbia to restore areas of forest decimated by insect pests and diseases, which become fuel for wildfires. In addition to these regions, Formstack will be supporting other areas including California, where recent wildfires have burned more than four million acres of trees, and the U.S. National Forest Service areas, which include 150 national forests across 43 states.
“We’re proud to work with partners dedicated to taking real action for sustainability. Thanks to Formstack's support, these reforestation efforts will help to mitigate the effects of climate change while restoring the land for biodiversity and the long-term health of forests,” said Diana Chaplin, Canopy Director, One Tree Planted.
Formstack Forests is one part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility program, Formstack for Good. Launched in 2020, the program is Formstack’s strategic commitment of time, product, and profit to help create a more sustainable and equal world. In addition to Formstack Forests, Formstack for Good also empowers employees (‘Stackers) to give their time, talent, and resources to worthy causes in their community, and donates Formstack technology and industry knowledge to support nonprofits making a difference.
